The Office of the Vice President for Planning Mission

The Office of the Vice President for Planning mission is to support methodological planning system with its strategic, qualitative and sectoral dimensions within the university in order to enable university administration and decision makers to have a rational and wise future vision., And support this vision to prepare future plans for the University to achieve the goals and aspirations of serving education in Kuwait.

From this point of view, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning since its establishment at Kuwait University in 1976 (President's Decree No. 164 dated 10/10/1976) is the primary administrative officer of the university's institutional planning sector. Moreover its units considered one of the main sectors of the University and directly responsible for presenting the University's requirements and objectives with its various departments and how to achieve them.

 

Main tasks of the Office of the Vice President for Planning

  • Coordinate between different sectors' participation to create the university strategy and develop its strategic plans and action plans.

  • Support plans with necessary studies.

  • Follow up, evaluate and analyze interim and final achievements according to the planned objectives.

  • Prepare, follow up and evaluate the achievements of the strategic plans, and supervise its studies.

  • Coordinate the preparation, follow-up, and evaluation of the achievements of academic plans, human resources plans, and development and operational budget plans.

  • Setting out the directions related to the development of university sites and preparing the structural plans for the development of university sites including facilities. 
  • As well as the identification of suitable places for new buildings.

  • Prepare budgets to implement plans for developing university facilities.

  • Prepare capacity requirements and technical specifications for new utility projects by assessing the needs of university authorities that will use these facilities. Ensuring that these requirements are consistent with the University's goals, and with the structural plans of the sites, and with the university standards by linking them to international standards and specifications.

  • Supervise the designs of the construction projects and ensure the approval of the designs according to the quality standards and international standards.

  • Follow up, evaluate, and analyze the progress achievements and final achievements of the operational programs.  

  • Document the planning information, plans, implementation indicators, evaluation, and construction project data through the construction of an integrated database through the GIS unit.
