On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, Kuwait University held a press conference and celebration of Kuwait University’s achievements in the world academic rankings, and the announcement of the academic accreditation of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the achievements of the Colleges of the Health Sciences Center, in the presence of the Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dr. Nawaf Al-Mutairi, the Acting Secretary-General of the University, Prof. Dr. Fayez Al-Dhafiri, the Vice Presidents of the University, the Deans of the Medical Colleges, and many researchers.
Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dr. Nawaf Al-Mutairi, expressed his pride in the achievements of Kuwait University, which included several axes, such as the increase in the university’s ranking in the QS World University Rankings, thanks to Health Sciences Center and the efforts of those in-charge. In addition, the College of Pharmacy obtaining academic accreditation for the (PharmD) program from the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs, also the (MPP) journal, which was first issued at Kuwait University in 1989, obtaining the first rankings among International Journals of Medical .In addition, the university’s clinical medicine research ranked 60th out of 1,000 medical schools ranked globally by US NEWS 2024 in the field of clinical medicine for highly cited research, which is among the top 1% most cited, besides being ranked 76th out of 1,000 in terms of citation impact.
Prof. Dr. Nawaf Al-Mutairi, pointed out that these achievements were made by the efforts of various university departments, which took a considerable amount of time to accomplish. He thanked the Health Sciences Center, with its various faculties and sectors, besides the Planning Sector for their excellence in presenting achievements that contribute to improve Kuwait University.
